The
Fincastle Herald – October 1, 2008 Edition
Dear
Editor:
The
Botetourt Center at Greenfield was the beautiful and comfortable
setting for the fifth annual Gather to Gavel Art Auction
on September 20, 2008. This annual fundraising event for
Historic Fincastle, Inc was a wonderful evening for all
who attended and an opportunity to showcase the talented
work of over forty regional artists. We thank Ross Laguzza
who entertained the audience and served as our auctioneer.
New to Gather to Gavel ’08 this year was the inclusion
of advanced high school art students at Lord Botetourt
and James River High Schools. Over 80 pieces of art and
specialty gifts were sold to a very appreciative crowd
who enjoyed delicious hors d’ouvres while socializing
and supporting this worthy cause. We want to thank our
event underwriter, The Bank of Botetourt. Also we appreciate
our supporters; Carmeuse Natural Stone, Digital Image
Printing, Ntelos, Daleville Frame and Art, Blue Ridge
Beverage Co., Barkett-Allen Capital, LLC, Inkeye Studio,
Attic Productions, and Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitors
Bureau. Others who supported and assisted include: The
Fincastle Herald, WDBJ 7, Priscilla Richardson and the
Roanoke Times, Cathy Benson and the Botetourt View, 3
Li’l Pigs, Attic Productions, and The Bank of Fincastle.

Committee Chairpersons: Cassandra Bulmer, Patti Kapral,
